COVID-19 , isolation, distancing, depression, broke, unemployed broken-hearted , racism, murder, injustice, oppression, abuse, human trafficking, cancel culture, violence, protests, riots, fires, anger, hate, hopelessness and despair. Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, 2020! As disappointing images come up to mind (not all, there have been great moments too), I want to say something. In the middle of all this, My HOPE is in the Lord. As I reflect on the list above and try my best not to lose it, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness, that He is there. Always. Hold on to Jesus! When you grip loosens, He still holds you. He will see you through. Psalm 121:1-2; Isaiah 43:1-3. I’m reminded of this timeless song that speaks truth in such a powerful way. Enjoy and have a blessed day. My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less Song by Edward Mote (1797-1874) My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus' blood and righteousness I dare not trust the sweetest frame But wholly lean on Jesus' name When darkness veils his lovely face I rest on His unchanging grace In every high and stormy gale My anchor holds within the veil His oath, his covenant, his blood Supports me in the 'whelming flood When all around my soul gives way He then is all my hope and stay When He shall come with trumpet sound Oh may I then in Him be found Dressed in his righteousness alone Faultless to stand before the throne On Christ the solid rock I stand All other ground is sinking sand All other ground is sinking sand God’s not done with 2020!
